January's Member Spotlight: Maxine Smith


Congratulations Maxine Smith, broker owner of Maxine Smith Reality in Shelby Twp. on being MiRealSource's FIRST 2020 Member Spotlight Winner. Maxine was nominated for being such an honest, helpful and hardworking person. Maxine is unique because she is lucky enough to work with her three grown sons, allowing her family to help families find their future home. Maxine has taken her education and leadership to the next level in the industry and it shows in her professionalism and accomplishments. Professional Questions: 

 

Tell us about your real estate career (title, office, years, specialties, designations, etc.)

I was first licensed in 1985, I received my Brokers license in 1990.  I managed Century 21 Associates for 4 years, then I opened my own company in 1999.  My designations are:  GRI, CRS, E-pro, Real Estate Practitioners Law, Advanced Real Estate Marketing, Psychology Achievement Award, Financing, Taxation, Intense Training to Deal with any Real Estate Situation & RAM (Real Estate Alumni of Michigan).  I also served on the board of directors for MiRealSource years ago.

 

You’ve been nominated for being such an honest, helpful, hardworking person with tons of integrity—in what ways do you feel you demonstrate these qualities?  

I have always been a people person.  I am honest and truthful with my clients.  After all of my years in the real estate business, 90% of my business comes from my past clients and referrals.

 

 You are the broker of Maxine Smith Realty; how did you get started in opening your own brokerage?

I have 3 sons that work full time with me and I wanted us to work together as a family team.  I am truly blessed to be working as a family team.  “A Family Team, for a Family Dream”

 

Which professional achievement are you most proud of?   

Opening my own Company.

 

What is the most common “tid-bit” of information most people don’t know being a broker?   

Making myself available 24/7 for my agents.

 

What piece(s) of technology do you incorporate into your business practices? 

Homesnap Pro is one of my favorite tools to use. I find all the features very cool. 

 

What is the most rewarding aspect of being REALTOR®?  

When I’ve closed a transaction and my clients give me big hug and thank me for all of my services.

 

What is the most difficult aspect of being a REALTOR®?  

Making myself available at all times for all of my clients and other agents.

 

 

Personal & Fun Questions:

 

Tell us more about you? (Interests, passions, hobbies, family, etc.)  

Spending time with my family, reading biographies, watching classic old movies and bowling.

 

Can you share with us some of your community service involvement, how you became interested, and where or how someone can get more involved?  

I am on my network called Nextdoor 23 and Mound.  On this website we share local events, safety updates, recommendations and much more.

 

What is your life Motto?   

For myself and my family to live a long, healthy and life.

 

Which personal achievement are you most proud of?  

My wonderful family.


Where is the most interesting place you’ve visited?   

Las Vegas 

 

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?  

Rome

 

Who or what are you most grateful for?  

Of course my family.

 

What is your 2020 resolution?   

To continue working with my family and giving good service to my clients.
