Tell us about your real estate career (title, office, years, specialties, designations, etc.)
I've been a licensed REALTOR® since 1996. I was the first agent at Keller Williams Lakeside and specialized in selling residential real estate. I now have a team of eight (8) people.
You’ve been nominated for being such a great leader and mentor; what is your best piece of advice to anyone new to the industry?
It's all about relationships. Grow them and go deep. Also, treat this career as just that; a career. Show up every day and engage in activities necessary to build your business.
Many of your nominations came from your team members who are sharing their appreciation & admiration for you. What do you think is the key to your success and keeping moral up?
The key is to focus on goals and hiring or firing based on our core values as a team and office. Showing gratitude and celebrating our successes. It's always good to participate in charitable organizations together as well.
How did you get started in the real estate industry?
I got started answering phones at a RE/MAX office when I was 16 years old. The rest is history.
Which professional achievement are you most proud of?
Receiving the HUD Courage Award when I encountered a clear fair-housing violation I decided to report it. I was recognized for taking the courage to address/report the situation; keeping integrity in this industry.
What do you appreciate the most about being a team leader?
Helping others achieve their professional and personal dreams.
What is the most common “tid-bit” of information most people don’t know being a REALTOR®?
It's hard work. There's no magic wand. It takes time to build a solid business. It's not about houses, it's about people.
What piece(s) of technology do you incorporate into your business practices?
We love Brivity for our website and CRM, which the will soon be integrated with Keller William's KWCommand, a new business management tool/app. We utilize signs with a call capture feature for leads. I also like to use an iPad for listing presentations.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a REALTOR®?
Helping others with their largest financial & emotional investment of their lives.
What is the most difficult aspect of being a REALTOR®?
The hours. You're on call 24/7. Even when I think I'm doing well at controlling my schedule, something always comes up.
Personal & Fun Questions:

Can you share with us some of your community service involvement, how you became interested, and where or how someone can get more involved?
I am a huge supporter of The Rainbow Connection, which is a local charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. We've done many fundraisers for them, including our 4th annual golf outing that raised $25,000 this past June. In total we have donated over $65,000 in 4 short years.
